Allied Health represents a diverse group of health professionals who support patients with allergies in realizing successful atopic disease self-management. Registered nurses, Pharmacists, Respiratory Therapists, Asthma Educators, Registered Dietitians and Clinical Research Assistants are all involved in helping allergic patients achieve optimal symptom control and health-related quality of life.
Each Allied Health discipline embodies a unique set of training and expertise. Allied Health staff often work in teams together with allergists and other related medical specialists. Care is centred on education and counselling to support patient self-care knowledge, skills and confidence.
CSACI supports its Allied Health members by providing information and continuing education opportunities based on the most recent research and practice guidelines.
